your editor ver 2.6 is the best and the only editor i use great job keep up the great work.

I keep getting "The ordinal 572 could not be located in the dynamic link storm.dll." when I try to run an xtra editor.

um, F is most likely your broodwar CD and not the directory where you installed the game to, for example c:\program files\starcraft\

It kinds sucks how there is almost NONE editors made for Normal starcraft...

i type this in here because i used to use x-tra however it keeps saying i don't have a full broodwar... i really do hope u can make X-Tra editor into one that would also work for Normal Starcraft.. such as starforge.. but that program keeps crashing that it hurts.. >.<

Map making became so much harder now that i don't have broodwar.. and also... is there a program that lets u place more then 255 locations?

I can't use the editor, every time I try to run the setup it say "The procedure entry point RichEdit10ANSIWndProc could not be located in the dynamic link library RICHED20.dll"

its german...

It's asking where you installed your starcraft in, like what folder you installed it in. Don't get that confused with your cd drive. If i'm not wrong, your starcraft folder would probably be in C:/Program Files/Starcraft . Hope that helps!

To tell you the truth i don't know what's wrong. It should work, but it doesn't seem to be working for you. I'm thinking that the editor is having trouble finding the RICHED21.dll file or something in your starcraft folder(?). I recommend you try to download the x-tra editor version 2.5 and see what happens.

how do u get colors with 2.6? do you have to download a special program for that? and also for protecting maps?

i have that problem too and i did read but i cant find c:program filesstarcraft...

I loved 2.5, Hard drive that contain my 2.5 version, (wich i loved), Crashed... now i had to get 2.6 and same old problem i haer on this site...

C Drive/programs/Starcraft
C Drive/programs/
C Drive/
C Drive/programs and other folders
Tryed in my other hard drive and same problem
My other harddirve dont have Starcraft

What it odes have is Windows XP
where my old machine ran window 98

Maybe its not working b/c the OS has change

Anyrate, i cant install into my computer reguardless of the file, directory or harddrive

AND ITS A DRIVE THAT IS NOT MY CD DRIVE
its the drive that actully holds my prog's


Desktop, my computer and many other folders in my computer... nothing worked....

and btw i did try putting on my desktop, my documents and also in folders on my desktop

For any of you idiots out there, to chose a directory for starcraft, You go to My computer and click on program files and than find starcraft, click on it and click OK. For any more info dont contact me contact my clan on starcraft. Clan efd (eternal flame dragoons)

I made a mistake, you go to my computer than hp pavilion and than program files and than starcraft.

Color is in the editor and to protect maps you do need a program. I like proedit 2.2

wtf guys... is this vista compatible? cuz i downloaded it and i just want classic and special mode, and when i try to run ethier modes it jus minimizes itself everytime i click it, the only button that works for me is run brood war

the editor is easy to use but, sometimes IDK why, it change the name of the locations, unit names, and texts, i cant use it if it do that

If you cant do the basics then you cant use a moderate Editor Let alone SCM Draft

When trying to run any of the components I get the error:


(replace Special.exe with the component, none of them work)

I am using the latest version of Brood War and SC X-tra and am running 32-bit Windows Vista. I've tried running the program with admin rights as well as with compatability with Windows XP. Any suggestions?

I need to get SC X-Tra Editor working too, I just downloaded and installed SCMDraft and it crashes whenever I tried to load a map I made in SC X-Tra Editor (I had it installed on this same laptop before I had to reformat).

I have the exact same problem ... did you ever find a solution? If not any suggests for a beginners Editor that works on Vista. Blessings, BB.
